- You can now sync Lingo with Apple Health, allowing you to access your glucose data in Apple Health and have your workouts automatically logged in Lingo.
- Lingo shares 5-minute glucose values with Apple Health on a 3-hour delay, and any workouts tracked by Apple Health will be logged automatically in Lingo.
- We’ll show you how to make sure your Lingo and Apple Health accounts connect and how to get the most out of this experience.
Lingo has rolled out some exciting new features with the latest app update V1.7.0 in iOS, including being able to sync your glucose data with Apple Health. This allows you to view your glucose data in Apple Health along with other helpful health markers such as steps, exercise minutes, and heart rate that you may see in Apple Health.
Plus, if you track your workouts with Apple Health, or have another wearable device that captures workout data in Apple Health (like an Apple Watch), that information will automatically log in the Lingo app without you having to manually add the exercise event.
Syncing Lingo with Apple Health helps you streamline your personal health data and can give you a broader view of your habits and unique glucose response. Over time, you can learn to identify patterns and start to build healthier habits.

How to sync Lingo with Apple Health
Connecting Lingo to Apple Health is a simple process (please note Lingo is currently only available on iPhone®).
If you’re already a Lingo user, complete the following steps:
First, open your Lingo app:
- Click on the “You” tab on the bottom right.
- Click on the settings button on the top left.
- Select “App settings.”
- Under “Your preferences,” see the option to “Connect to Apple Health.”
- Click on “Manage” and get redirected to the iPhone settings app.

Open the iPhone settings app:
- In your iPhone settings app, go to the “Apps” tab and select “Health” app.
- Under data, select “Data access & devices.”
- Select “Lingo” app.
- Click “Turn On All” to sync Lingo with Apple Health.

If you’re using Lingo for the first time, you can choose to enable this integration with Apple Health when creating your account.
It’s important to note that while your Lingo biosensor streams minute-by-minute glucose data to the Lingo app, this data is shared with Apple Health a bit differently. Lingo shares 5-minute glucose values with Apple Health at a 3-hour delay. So if you don’t see your glucose data reflected immediately in Apple Health, this is why.
To make sure your glucose data and Apple Health apps continue to be synced, follow steps 6-8 above and make sure Blood Glucose is toggled on, along with the other health markers you’d like to sync (Height, Sex, Weight, Workouts).

To unpair, follow the above steps and select “Turn Off All.”
What are the benefits of integrating Lingo with Apple Health?
Syncing Lingo and Apple Health allows for more seamless tracking. Instead of having to manually log your workouts as separate events into the Lingo app, this data is automatically logged for you in Lingo if you track your workouts via Apple Health. This can give you more targeted insight into how exercise impacts your unique glucose patterns, reflected in your Lingo graph.
Furthermore, syncing the two allows for your personal glucose data to be stored in the same place in the Apple Health app as other key health markers from other products, such as steps, overall activity, heart rate, and more. Having all this information can provide a simpler, at-a-glance assessment of your health data.
Important notes about the Lingo x Apple Health integration
There is a minor, yet important distinction to call out between the data Lingo provides and how it’s registered in Apple Health. While Apple Health refers to glucose data as “blood glucose” data, Lingo measures glucose data via interstitial fluid, which is the thin layer of fluid surrounding your cells (not blood glucose data). In Lingo, readings from interstitial fluid are converted to approximate blood glucose levels.
Remember that the average glucose number in Lingo might be different from what’s shown in Apple Health because glucose data from your Lingo biosensor is sent to Apple Health at a 3-hour delay. Lingo also shares 5-minute glucose values with Apple Health, compared to the minute-by-minute glucose values you see in the Lingo app.
Lingo measures glucose values between 55-200 mg/dL (milligrams per deciliter). When Lingo shares your glucose data with Apple Health, only values within this range will be shared. So, if your glucose falls below or above that range, those data points won't register in Apple Health.
However, healthy people without diabetes typically maintain glucose levels between 70-140 mg/dL most of the time,1 so having a reading below 55 mg/dL or above 200 mg/dL is not common in healthy individuals.
If you are concerned or have questions about your glucose values, check in with your health care team. It’s important to note that Lingo is not to be used for the diagnosis or treatment of any disease, including diabetes. Lingo also isn’t intended for users who are on insulin.
Once your glucose data has synced, it will remain in Apple Health until you delete it. Turning off the sync won’t automatically delete your past data.
It’s also worth noting that once your glucose data is in Apple Health, other products connected with Apple Health can use it. However, you can turn that access off or on.
A final note from Lingo
Viewing your health data just got easier by syncing Lingo with Apple Health. Now, not only will your workouts automatically log in Lingo and be visible on your Lingo graph, you’ll also be able to see your glucose data in Apple Health.
Make sure you have the latest version of the Lingo app installed on your iPhone (V1.7.0, available on iOS only) and follow the steps above to ensure your Lingo data is synced with Apple Health.
By tracking your personal health data, including your unique glucose response, you can gain a better understanding of your habits and how they influence your well-being. Lingo helps you learn healthy behavior change to manage your glucose levels with the goal of improving your mood, energy, cravings, and more.2
The Lingo Glucose System is intended for users 18 years and older not on insulin. It is NOT intended for diagnosis of diseases, including diabetes.
A typical glucose range for healthy individuals is 70-140 mg/dL. Occasionally, one may find themselves over 140 mg/dL or under 70 mg/dL, which is expected.
The Lingo program does not guarantee that everyone will achieve the same results as individual responses may vary. Consult your healthcare professional before making changes to your diet or exercise regimen or if you have an eating disorder or a history of eating disorders.
